Calgary, AB- Draft Day action continues... 5th Round action saw the Cougars attain defenseman Chris Van Duynhoven, via the Brandon Wheat Kings. The 6'4", 220 lbs, product of North Vancouver was selected 84th overall.

Still in the 5th Round, the "Cats" received Airdrie, AB. product Dana Tyrell, who was traded to the Cougars after being selected 97th overall by the Prince Albert Raiders. Tyrell is measured at 5'8" and hits the scale at 160 lbs.

The Cougars, who were deal making in the 6th, wasted no time and acquired Adam Bashford of Richmond, BC. Bashford (#104) was sent to the Cougars on a trade from the Brandon Wheat Kings. Bashford is 5'11" and weighs 145 lbs.

Minutes later, the Cougars used their 105th overall selection to pick Matty Smith of Debden, SK, only to send his rights to the Brandon Wheat Kings. However, at the 106th selection, the "Cats" snatched up left winger Peter MacLaurin (6'0", 180 lbs.) of Calgary, AB, as Lethbridge sent him west to Prince George.

Round 7 is just around the corner and sees the Cougars look to secure 2 future talents.
