Prince George Cougars News Release
Calgary, AB- With the first overall pick in the 2004 WHL Bantam Draft, the Prince George Cougars have selected left defenseman Ryan Kerr of the North Shore Winter Club Bantam AAA. Kerr, a 6'1", 170 lbs. product of North Vancouver, led his team to a 70-6 record this past season and a second place overall finishing in the BC Division.
"I am extremely thrilled to be selected number one overall. With so many talented players in this year's draft, it is an honour to be chosen first. I have heard great things about Prince George and look forward to the opportunity to help contribute to the success of the franchise in the future", said Kerr (DOB-March 4, 89) from his Lower Mainland residence.
"Ryan is a highly skilled defenseman and he was a leader on his team this year," says Dallas Thompson, Assistant General Manager for the Cougars. "We are proud to select him; he is a terrific addition to our organization."
