Frisco, TX - The Frisco RoughRiders scored six straight runs to best the Arkansas Travelers 6-1 on Sunday at Dr. Pepper Ballpark.
RHP Albert Suarez (L, 7-7) and RHP Jose Leclerc both dueled through five scoreless innings, but after Arkansas plated the first run of the game on a LF Blake Gailen single in the sixth, Frisco countered with three runs on two longballs in the bottom of the frame.
'Riders catcher Patrick Cantwell and CF Ryan Cordell both blasted home runs to left off Suarez to put Frisco up 3-1.
The RoughRiders added a run in the seventh and two in the eighth off RHP Austin Wood.
DH Raywilly Gomez produced his second consecutive 3-for-4 night for Arkansas. Over the 6-for-8 stretch, Gomez raised his average from .258 to .294.
The only other Arkansas hit was Gailen's two-out RBI single in the sixth.
Suarez allowed the three runs on four hits with one walk and seven strikeouts over six innings.
Wood worked the final two and surrendered the three runs on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
The Travs went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position and have just three total hits in that situation over their last six losses.
With the loss, Arkansas fell to 40-39 and 4-6 in the second half. LHP Mike Antonini will make his Angels organizational debut for the Travs on Monday. First pitch at Dr. Pepper Ballpark is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
