CORPUS CHRISTI - It's the inaugural Off to the Races Night from Radiology Associates at Whataburger Field Friday, when your Corpus Christi Hooks meet the Tulsa Drillers in Texas League Baseball at 7:05.

But... the fun begins at 4 o'clock in the west parking lot, as the Hooks and the David DeLay Scholarship Fund present the Off to the Races Car Show. Classes include muscle cars, trucks, street rods, and open show. Judging commences at 5, and winners parade around the Whataburger Field warning track at 6:15. Entry fee is just $30 and includes a game ticket and parking.

The first 150 fans through the turnstiles take home O'Reilly Auto Parts gift cards, and there will be drawings for Mr. Fancy Pants Car Wash gift certificates. One lucky patron receives a VIP package for two to the AAA Texas 500 at Fort Worth's Texas Motor Speedway November 8. The Hooks' ballpark entertainment team has racing and car-themed music on tap for the entire evening, with player videos featuring favorite cars and drivers.
Bud Light Friday Fireworks light up the sky postgame, and the first 500 children ages 4-12 eat free, complements of metroPCS.
