Davenport, Iowa - Quad Cities River Bandits pitcher Cesar Rosado has been named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for the week of July 16-July 22. He is the third River Bandits pitcher to win a weekly award this season. Patrick Sandoval and Cristian Javier earned the honor in the month of May and Sandoval was honored for a second time in June.

Rosado's only appearance of the week came on July 19 against the South Bend Cubs. In that game, the right-hander held the Cubs without a hit over 5.0 scoreless innings. Rosado walked a pair and recorded five strikeouts.

For the season, the native of the Dominican Republic owns a 4-2 record and has posted an earned run average of 3.97. Rosado has racked up 80 strikeouts in 77.0 innings. He has allowed just 62 hits and an opponents' batting average of .228 in the process.

The 22-year old Rosado was signed by the Astros as an international free agent in 2014. He is the final remaining member of the River Bandits team that won the 2017 Midwest League Championship.
