Rookie sensation McLean returns to Nailers lineup

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers announce today that the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have returned forward Kurtis McLean on loan to the Nailers.

McLean, 25, began the season with the Nailers recording 46 points (25+21) and a plus-20 rating in 36 games, ranking second overall in the league in points before being recalled to Wilkes-Barre on January 11th. He still sits tied for fourth in rookie goals scored, and sixteenth overall in rookie points.

The 5'11" 175 pound native of Kirkland Lake, Ontario appeared in 27 games with the Penguins, recording 12 points (3+9) and a plus-5 rating. McLean was signed by the Penguins as a free agent on September 29th, after playing four years at Norwich University (NCAA Div. III).

The Nailers are on the road tonight facing division rival Reading for a chance at second place in the North. They then travel to Johnstown and Trenton before returning home Saturday against Dayton and Johnstown on Sunday.
