Toledo's MacIntyre Named Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Drew MacIntyre of the Toledo Storm is the Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Mar. 13-19.

The 6-foot-1 and 184-pound netminder was a perfect 3-0-0 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 0.99, and a save percentage of .962 as the Storm went 3-1-0 to move into a first-place tie with Reading in the North Division with 81 points and a 38-20-5 record.

The 22-year-old posted back-to-back wins against defending Kelly Cup champion Trenton, stopping 39 shots in a 2-1 win on Mar. 15 and making 22 saves in a 4-0 win on Mar. 17 for his second shutout of the season. In a match up with then first-place Reading on Mar. 19, MacIntyre stopped 17 of 19 shots for a 3-2 win.

Selected in the fourth round (121st overall) by Detroit in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and under contact to the Red Wings, MacIntyre is 21-7-2 and ranks second in the league with a goals against of 2.10 and is tied for fourth with a .925 save percentage. He is 5-0-0 with a shutout and a 1.40 goals-against average and a .946 save percentage in his last five starts for Toledo.

He has also appeared in 12 games with Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League where he is 8-3-0 with a goals-against average of 2.53 and a .908 save percentage.

In 2004-05 with Grand Rapids, he was 7-8-0 with a goals-against average of 2.69 and a save percentage of .902 while also playing one game with the Storm. As a rookie in 2003-04, MacIntyre was 6-4-0 with a 2.61 goals-against average and .919 save percentage in 11 games with Toledo.

The Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island native played four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where he was 73-87-13 with a 3.30 goals-against average and a save percentage of. 900 in 188 career games for Sherbrooke.

Runners Up: Kevin Nastiuk, Florida (3-0-0, 1.62 GAA, .948 save pct.) and Matt Yeats, Idaho (2-0-0, 1.00 GAA, .940 save pct.).
