One goes up, one comes down to Titans

TRENTON, NJ (March 21, 2006) - The Trenton Titans announced on Tuesday that Scott Bertoli has been returned by the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL), while goaltender Scott Stirling has been recalled by the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).

Bertoli, 28, currently ranks twelfth in the ECHL with 66 points and leads the Titans in points, goals (19), power play goals (8) and assists (47). Now in his seventh season of professional hockey, Bertoli receives the third AHL call-up of his career.

A native of Milton, Ontario, Bertoli has spent all but four of his 446 professional games with the Trenton Titans and is the team's all-time leader in games played (442), goals (150), assists (296) and points (446).

Stirling, 27, did not appear in a game during his third assignment with Trenton this season. The sixth-year pro has posted a record of 6-6-1 for the Titans in 2005-06 with a goals against average of 2.74 and a .910 save percentage. Stirling was 1-5-1 this year in seven games for the Rampage with a 2.85 goals against average and a .916 save percentage.

Stirling burst onto the scene during his rookie season in 2000-01 going 32-10-3, helping the Titans to their first Kelly Cup appearance and earning honors for ECHL Goaltender of the Year while also being selected All-ECHL First Team and All-ECHL Rookie Team.

Last season, Stirling totaled a career best 35 wins as a part of a 35-18-3 campaign for the Danbury Thrashers of the United Hockey League. Prior to turning pro, he was a four-year letterman at Brown University from 1996-2000.

The Titans begin their three-game weekend on Friday, March 24 at 7:30pm against the Wheeling Nailers at the Sovereign Bank Arena.
