
Nailers sign Canadian college star

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers announce today that have signed forward Mike Rice out of the University of Western Ontario. As per club policy terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Rice, 24, joins the Nailers after completing his season at the University of Western Ontario in the CIS. In three seasons with the University he played in 64 games recording 96 points (42+54) and 110 penalty minutes.
Before attending Western Ontario the 6'4" 225 pound native of Toronto, Ontario played four seasons in the OHL for three different teams, Brampton, Oshawa, and Erie. In his last season in the OHL he appeared in 67 games with the Erie Otters scoring 64 points (33+31) with 75 penalty minutes.
The Nailers are on the road tonight facing division rival Reading for a chance at second place in the North. They then travel to Johnstown and Trenton before returning home Saturday against Dayton and Johnstown on Sunday.
