
Steelheads' McConvey Named In Glas Co ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - D'Arcy McConvey of the Idaho Steelheads is the In Glas
Co ECHL Player of the Week for Mar. 13-19.
The 24-year-old had three multiple-point games and registered a point in
all four games he played as the Steelheads went 4-0-0 to improve to 37-20-7
and 81 points, remaining in third place in the West Division.
After scoring four points (2g-2a) in Idaho's 6-4 win against Stockton on
Mar. 14, the 5-foot-10 and 190-pound center had a goal and two assists in a
4-2 win over the Thunder on Mar. 15. He had an assist in a 2-0 win at Utah
on Mar. 17 and closed out the week with a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win
against Stockton on Mar. 18.
Under contract to Iowa of the American Hockey League, McConvey leads Idaho
with 42 assists and is second on the team with 30 goals, 14 power-play
goals and 72 points. He is seventh in the league in points and has scored
in 38 of his 51 games played, including 22 multiple-point games. He has
also appeared in eight games with Iowa.
McConvey was selected as a starter for the 2006 All-Star Game and he had
two assists to help the National Conference to a 7-6 win over the American
Conference.
In his first professional season with Columbia in 2004-05, he ranked eighth
among ECHL rookies with a team-leading 54 points in 60 regular season games
and had two assists in five Kelly Cup Playoff games while also playing four
games with Reading.
The Richmond Hill, Ontario native played four years at Bowling Green State
University from 2000-04. He scored 102 points (31g-71a) in 153 career games
and led the team in scoring each of his final two seasons.
On behalf of D'Arcy McConvey, a case of pucks will be donated to a Boise,
Idaho area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive
puck supplier for the ECHL. In Glas Co has donated over 14,000 pucks
to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the
award in 2000-01.
