EVERETT, Wash. - Austin Roest banked a rebound goal for the Everett Silvertips to cap off a 2-1 overtime win against the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday night at Angel of the Winds Arena.

Carter Bear secured his second goal of the season, opening the scoring at 16:33 in the first period. He redirected a Cade Zaplitny shot through the five-hole of Carson Bjarnason, with a secondary assist to Caden Brown.

Roger McQueen knotted the score for Brandon just 16 seconds into the third period, sliding the puck past Tyler Palmer while on a breakaway.

The Everett Silvertips seized their second overtime win of the season by the result of Roest's rebound goal 2:39 into the overtime period. The game-winner was assisted by Niko Tsakumis and Ben Hemmerling

Tyler Palmer turned aside 30 of the 31 shots blasted his way for his third win of the season.

"It's a good win," commented assistant coach Mike Field after the game. "Not our best effort, but any time you can win and not have your best effort, that's always a good thing. [Brandon] is the biggest team we've seen so far this year. I thought our guys did a good job in moments. I still think that's something we can continue to work on and improve in that area."
