
Pats Fall 6-4 in Prince Albert as Four Game Winning-Streak Ends

Prince Albert, Sask. - The Regina Pats had their four-game winning-streak come to an end on Friday night, falling 6-4 to the Prince Albert Raiders at the Art Hauser Centre.
The Raiders three goal second period proved to be the difference, as the Pats took a 2-1 lead into the second frame. Matteo Michels and Borya Valis put the Pats up 2-1 after one.
Easton Kovacs' long distance shot tied the game at two, while Tyrone Sobry's point shot gave the Raiders the lead with his first in the WHL. The Raiders led 4-2 after two. The third period turned into a see-saw battle, with both teams trading goals late, and the contest finishing 6-4 in favour of Prince Albert.
The Pats got multi-point games from Tanner Howe (2A) and Matteo Michels (1G-1A) in the loss.

THE GOALS
First Period
1-0 Raiders at 4:30 - Sloan Stanick (4), assisted by Ryder Ritchie & Easton Kovacs // Kovacs' shot to the corner is picked up by Ritchie deep in the Pats zone. He sent a pass to the front of the net which found Stanick in front and he chipped the puck past Pyne to give the Raiders an early 1-0 lead.
1-1 Pats at 5:23 - Matteo Michels (5), assisted by Jaxsin Vaughan & Jaren Brinson // Michels is Johnny-on-the-spot as he bats home a feed from Jaxsin Vaughn from the left circle to get the Pats back on even terms less than a minute after the Raiders took the lead.
2-1 Pats at 12:39 - Borya Valis (3), assisted by Corbin Vaughan & Tanner Howe // As a Pats power play was expiring, the puck was controlled in the offensive zone. Howe got the puck along the right circle and he fed a pass to Valis in the left circle and he let a one-timer rip that got through Coward to give the Pats a 2-1 lead.
Second Period
2-2 Raiders at 5:54 - Easton Kovacs (1), assisted by Sloan Stanick // Stanick got the puck beside the Pats net and sent a pass to Kovacs near the point and he let a shot go that looked to redirect off a stick in the Pats slot and past Pyne to tie the game up at 2-2.
3-2 Raiders at 9:14 - Tyroen Sobry (1), assisted by Grady Martin // The Raiders won the offensive zone face-off and Martin sent a pass to Sobry where he long-distance shot beat a screened Pyne to give the Raiders the lead at 3-2.
4-2 Raiders at 15:41 - Hayden Pakkala (2), assisted by Cole Peardon & Oli Chenier // On a Raider rush, Peardon sent a cross-ice pass to Pakkala who one-timed it past Pyne to extend the Raiders lead to 4-2 late in the second period.
Third Period
5-2 Raiders at 17:02 - Naill Crocker (4), assisted by Harrison Lodewyk & Cole Peardon // On a Raider rush, Lodewyk hit Crocker who got behind the Pats defender and fired it past a sprawling Pyne to give the Raiders a 5-2 lead.
5-3 Pats at 17:38 - Sam Oremba (1), assisted by Tanner Howe & Matteo Michels // The Pats worked the puck deep in the Raiders zone and Oremba outworked the Raiders defenders to pull the Pats to within a pair at 5-3.
6-3 Raiders at 19:00 - Brayden Dube (3), unassisted (EN) // Dube found a loose puck in the neutral zone, went the distance, and scored into an empty net to seal the game.
6-4 Pats at 19:58 - Cole Temple (4), assisted by Corban Almen // Almen found Temple with a pass and he went in on a breakaway and made no mistake as he scored to make it 6-4.
