Wilmington Blue Rocks News Release
Winston-Salem, NC - The record-setting pace of rainouts in the Carolina League continued on Wednesday as Mother Nature forced the postponement of the Blue Rocks' series finale against the Winston-Salem Dash. It marks the Rocks' 13th rainout of the season.
The Blue Crew does not return to Winston-Salem this season, so no makeup date has been announced. The game will be made up when the Dash visits Wilmington August 11-13.
Wilmington moves to Potomac for a critical four-game series with the CL North-leading Nationals starting Thursday at 7:05 p.m. The P-Nats entered Wednesday with a 1.5-game advantage on the Blue Rocks in the standings, but the Rocks have won 10 consecutive games. It will be the first of seven meetings between the divisional rivals over an 11-day span. The Blue Rocks are 4-9 against their nemesis this season.
Michael Montgomery (0-0, 3.00) will go for the Blue Crew. The P-Nats are scheduled to counter with right-hander Trevor Holder (1-0, 1.80).
