THE HILLCATS: Kinston crushed Lynchburg 15-3 last night at Grainger Stadium in game two of the three-game series...The loss for the Hillcats snapped their four-game winning streak...Tonight the Cats play the final game of this set and game three of a seven-game road trip that will complete a stretch of 13 out of 17 on the road...

VS. KINSTON: The Hillcats are 9-7 against the Indians thus far this season and are 6-3 at Grainger Stadium...The last time Lynchburg came to Kinston they swept the K-Tribe in a three-game series and outscored them by a combined score of 31-9...Lynchburg has the edge in the all-time series at 147-144, but they are 65-82 at Grainger Stadium...

THE BIG BANG INNING: Lynchburg led 1-0 through five innings last night before the Indians scored 12 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning...The K-Tribe had not scored a run in the first 14 innings of the series before they put up the biggest inning of the season against the Hillcats this season...It was the second most runs scored in an inning ever against the Cats, second only to the 13 runs the Tribe scored in the second inning on June 19th, 2008...The huge frame led to the most runs scored (15), the most hits (19) and the biggest deficit (12) against the Cats all season long...Kinston had the first 11 men reach and score with still no outs recorded in the inning...The K-Tribe brought 15 men to the plate in the inning and hit two grand slams...

HAPPY TO HAVE YOU: UTIL Josh Harrison is hitting .400 (8-for-20) with two doubles, a triple, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in just five games played with Lynchburg...He began the season with Low-A Peoria in the Cubs system and was a first half All-Star in the Midwest League with a .337 average...His last 18 games in the Chicago system Harrison was with Advanced-A Daytona and hit .286...He came to the Pirate along with RHP Kevin Hart and RHP Jose Ascanio for LHP Tom Gorzelanny and LHP John Grabow...

UNLOCKY LOCKE: LHP Jeff Locke allowed just one run in five innings of work last night but earned a no-decision in the Hillcats loss...In his last two starts the southpaw has allowed just two earned runs in 11 innings pitched (1.64 ERA) but has taken two no-decisions...Lynchburg has only plated a combined four runs in those two contests...Prior to his most recent recent outings, Locke had gone 0-3 with a 9.98 ERA (17 earned runs in 15 and 1/3 innings) in his last five starts...

STICKY STRETCH: RHP Mike Colla allowed six runs last night without recording an out and took a blown save and a loss...In his last nine appearances he has allowed 20 earned runs in 18 and 1/3 innings (9.64 ERA) pitched...Over that time he has raised his ERA from 0.86 (three earned runs in 31 and 1/3 innings) to 4.17...

PRESS YOUR LUCK: OF Alex Presley went 2-for-4 with a double last night and has now hit in five straight games...Over that time he has gone 8-for-20 (.400) with two doubles, an RBI and four runs scored...He has now hit in 14 of the last 16 games and batted .333 (19-for-57) over that stretch with four doubles, two RBI, and nine runs scored...His average was .228 on July 16th and has now been raised to .249...

TODAY'S OPPOSING PITCHER: RHP Paolo Espino was selected by the Indians in the 10th round of the 2006 amateur player draft out of the Pendleton School (High school) in Bradenton, Florida...He made his professional debut with Low-A Lake Country that same year and went 4-5 with a 3.66 ERA in 33 games (13 starts) with the Captains...Last season he returned to the South Atlantic League and posted 2-0 record with a 3.16 ERA in 19 relief appearances and one save before he was promoted to Kinston...With the K-Tribe he had a 0-2 record with an 8.49 ERA in seven games (six starts)...This season he has spent time at Low-A, Advanced-A and Double-A...Espino began the season with the Captains and went 2-1 with a 6.75 ERA in five games (two starts)...In his 15 games (14 starts) with Kinston this season he has gone 3-6 with a 3.26 ERA with a save...He also made one appearance with Akron and took a loss, allowing one earned run in three innings of relief...Last season he pitched three times (two starts) against Lynchburg and had no decisions and a 4.85 ERA...This season he has gone 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA in two starts against the Hillcats...
