TODAY: The Potomac Nationals wrap up their brief road trip with the rubber game of this three-game series with the Frederick Keys from Harry Grove Stadium. Trent Jewett's club leads this "Battle of the Beltway" 11-5 with the P-Nats victorious in nine of the last 12 meetings. Potomac is 6-4 from Maryland in 2009.

TODAY'S OPPOSING STARTER: RHP Sean Gleason, 23, was drafted in the 20th round of the 2007 First- Year Player Draft by the Baltimore Orioles out of St. Mary's College of California. The LaJunta, Colorado native has come better than advertised turning in two very impressive seasons in the lower levels of the Orioles system. He dominated in his professional debut with Bluefield of the rookie ball Appalachian League in 2007 finishing sixth in the league witha 2.93 ERA and tied for the team lead with his five wins on the year. Gleason made the move to Low-A Delmarva in 2008 and after beginning the season in the Shorebirds bullpen, the righty was shifted into the starting rotation and he put up all-star numbers. He finished the campaign with a remarkable 12- 2 record with the third best ERA in the South Atlantic League at 2.63. He tied the Delmarva team lead in both wins (12) and finished third on the Shorebirds staff with 108 strikeouts in 150.2 innings of work. 11 of his 21 starts in 2008 were considered quality starts and he ended up being named to the 2008 South Atlantic League All-Star Team.

So far in 2009, Gleason is 2-5 with a 5.05 ERA in 11 games (10 starts) in his Carolina League debut with the Keys. The only time he's faced Potomac in his career, the P-Nats tagged the righty for nine hits and six runs (only two were earned) in 4.2 IP from Pfitzner Stadium on July 3rd.
