
Rockford Takes Series From Grizzlies

The Rockford RiverHawks scored a pair of runs in the top of the ninth inning to beat the Grizzlies 5-4 Sunday night in front of 4,952 at GMC Stadium.
The loss drops the Grizzlies to 16-14 for the season. Rockford improves to 18-12.
The Grizzlies led 4-3 heading into the ninth, before Rockford used two hits and a walk to take the lead. The two runs were the fist earned runs scored off of Mike Golden all season. Golden pitched the final 2 2/3 innings, suffering his first loss of the season to drop to 1-1.
Brad Bauder was the only Grizzlie with more than a single hit. He was 2-4 with a run scored. Daylon Monette and Ryan Sullivan were each 1-3 with home runs. Greg Stevens picked up an RBI on a groundout.
The Grizzlies and the Frontier League take a day off Monday. The Grizzlies will play in Chillicothe Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Game time all three nights is 6:05.
