In the final game of their four game home stand, the Windy City Thunderbolts defeated the Springfield/Ozark Ducks by a score of 11-6. ThunderBolts starting pitcher Ty Kline provided his teammates with some rock solid pitching, scattering 9 hits and 4 runs (2 earned) while striking out 5 and walking one, pitching 6 innings and earning his third win of the season. Ducks starting pitcher Mike Schaefer got into trouble early and often, giving up 6 runs (all earned) and 9 hits over 3 innings, earning his fourth loss of the season.
P-Nut Williams continued his hitting streak to 24 games, going 1 for 4 with a 425 foot 3-run home run in the bottom of the third inning. The ThunderBolts have won 12 of their last 13 games, are currently 20-8 and in first place, 3 games ahead of division rival Rockford. The announced attendance was 1,622. The ThunderBolts take tomorrow, June 21, off, and on Tuesday travel to Washington, Pennsylvania to take on the Eastern Division Washington Wild Things in a three-game series. The ThunderBolts return on June 28 to face the Springfield Ducks again in a three-game series.
