Kelowna Rockets vs. the Kamloops Blazers in WHL preseason action

The Kelowna Rockets fell 4-3 to the Kamloops Blazers in overtime on Friday night in Kamloops.
Just under six minutes into the first Dallon Wilton(1) was credited with the Rockets first goal that went in off of a Blazers defender. Late in the opening frame Erik Gardiner(1) extended the Rockets lead to 2-0 and they took that lead into the middle stanza.
Brodi Stuart(2) got the Blazers on the board at the 4:00 mark of the second. With just under five minutes to play in the period Connor Zary(1) evened the game at 2-2, but with 10 seconds remaining Nolan Foote(2) restored the Rockets lead.
Stuart(3) struck again for Kamloops at 4:44 of the final frame to once again bring the game to even. After 60 minutes the game was tied at 3-3 and headed to overtime.
Nolan Kneen(2) scored for Kamloops 3:36 into the extra frame for a 4-3 Blazers final.
Roman Basran and James Porter split time between the pipes for Kelowna. Basran made 19 saves on the 20 shots he faced in his first action since January before Porter took over midway through the second period. Porter made 11 saves on 14 shots as the Rockets outshot the Blazers 40-34.
The Rockets and Blazers are right back in action tomorrow night at Prospera Place to close out Kelowna's preseason. Puck drop is at 7:05pm.
