Afforded a season-high 10 opportunities on the power play, the IceCaps capitalized with five tallies to defeat the Pirates 7-4 Friday night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine. Jerome Samson notched a pair while John Albert registered a goal and two assists as the IceCaps rolled to their fifth straight victory and fourth in as many tries on their five- game road trip. Brenden Kichton added a goal and an assist and Andrew Gordon, Kael Mouillierat, Ben Chiarot and JC Lipon all notched a pair of helpers. Michael Hutchinson was busy in making 33 saves for his fifth win in six games this season.

Paul Postma collected three assists to lead the IceCaps to a franchise-tying sixth straight win, 3-1 over the Monarchs, Saturday night at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H. The win gave St. John's a 5-0 record on their latest road trip. Scoring for the IceCaps was Adam Lowry, Kyle MacKinnon and Jason Jaffray.
Kudos For Kichton: IceCaps defenceman Brenden Kichton was recently added to the AHL All-Star Team for the upcoming AHL All-Star Classic in St. John's and named CCM/AHL Rookie of the Month for January.
All-Star Festivities: On Monday, Feb. 10, St. John's Convention Centre will host a Taste of Newfoundland night with live entertainment and a wide array of local delicacies. On Feb. 12, fans can experience the history of the AHL at the American Hockey League Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Ceremony presented by Pepsi. This year's inductees include, among others, St. John's native John Slaney.
