Hoffman Named Ccm/AHL Player of the Week
February 3, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Binghamton Senators News Release
BINGHAMTON, NY - The American Hockey League and the Binghamton Senators announced today that forward Mike Hoffman has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 2, 2014.
Hoffman totaled five goals and two assists for seven points in three games last week, helping keep Binghamton atop the East Division standings.
On Wednesday night in Worcester, Hoffman tied a pair of Senators franchise records by tallying four goals and five points in Binghamton's 6-3 win over the Sharks - scoring twice in the first period and twice more in the third. After his seven-game scoring streak was snapped in Manchester on Friday, Hoffman came back with a goal and an assist on Saturday as Binghamton defeated Portland, improving to 25-3-0-2 in games when Hoffman records a point.
A fourth-year pro from Kitchener, Ont., Hoffman has already set career highs in goals (23), assists (32) and points (55) in 44 games played with Binghamton, ranking second in the league's overall scoring race. Hoffman, a fifth-round pick by Ottawa in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, has tallied 64 goals and 93 assists for 157 points in 235 career AHL games and has also appeared in seven career NHL games, including three this season. Hoffman was a member of Binghamton's Calder Cup championship team in 2011.
In recognition of his achievement, Hoffman will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Senators home game.
The B-Sens will be back on home ice this coming Wednesday, February 5 when they host the Pirates in a 7:05p.m. matchup. Tickets for the game are available by calling the Binghamton Senators Executive Office at (607) 722-7367 or stopping in between 9:00a.m. and 5:30p.m. Fans can also purchase tickets through the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena Box Office and all Ticketmaster outlets during normal business hours by visiting www.ticketmaster.com or at 1-800-745-3000.
