Bismarck Larks News Release
The Rochester Honkers took the first of a four game series in Bismarck, defeating the Larks, 4-3 in an extra-inning thriller on University of Mary night at the ballpark.
The Larks trailed 1-0 for the longest time, before taking the lead in the eighth inning on a wild pitch. The very next batter, Ryan Curran, hit a double down the left field line to extend the Larks lead to two for the Fetzer Electric Play of The Game. In the end, the pitching for Honkers proved to be too much for the Larks to overcome.
Honkers starter Brant Alazaus went 7.2 innings allowing just two runs. The Larks did not record a hit until the sixth inning. Patrick Williams tossed the final 2.1 and allowed just one run as he picked up the win.
Despite the loss, the Larks received a great start from Connor O'Halloran in his final start of the season. O'Halloran went six innings allowing just one run while collecting his season-high eleven strikeouts. He set up his secondary pitches well with his 92mph fastball for the Metro-Area Ambulance Fastest Pitch. The lefty finishes his 2021 season 2-1 with a 2.72 ERA and 45 strikeouts in his first season with the Larks.
The four game homestand continues for the Larks on Friday. Following the game, will be the final Fetzer Electric Firework display of the season. First pitch is at 7:05 and the game is presented by Mor-Gran-Sou Electric and Basin Electric.
