WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS: The Rochester Red Wings fell to their Thruway rival Buffalo Bisons Saturday afternoon, 8-3, giving Buffalo a 3-2 series advantage...1B MATT ADAMS collected the only multi-hit effort for Rochester, notching a pair of singles in the loss as the Wings failed to collect an extra-base hit on the day...2B DARREN BAKER collected his 50th hit of the season thanks to his 3rd inning single...the Red Wings bullpen came on early in relief and delivered 6.2 innings of one-run ball while only striking out two batters...the Red Wings will send RHP WILY PERALTA up against the former Wing RHP Drew Hutchison for the series finale...Peralta is looking for his first win this season with Rochester.

BIG CITY THINGS: 1B MATT ADAMS recorded Rochester's only multi-hit performance on Saturday, going 2-for-5 with an RBI...it marked the sixth multi-hit game from Adams this season and the second during the series against Buffalo...Rochester has seen at least one batter record a multi-hit performance in seven of its last 10 games...

The Wings have tallied 78 multi-hit games this season, led by 2B DARREN BAKER, who has 10 more (17) than the next closest Wings hitters (7).

SINGLE OR NOTHING: Rochester failed to record an extra-base hit during Saturday afternoon's loss...this marked the first time since 5/14 that Rochester did not record an extra-base hit in a game...over the last 10 games dating back to 5/10, the Wings have 32 extra-base hits, led by LF TRAVIS BLANKENHORN with six...over that span, Rochester has the third-most doubles in the International League...

The Wings are tied for 13th in the IL in doubles (76), last in triples (2), and 19th in home runs (27) this season.

BAKE SHOW: 2B DARREN BAKER recorded his 50th hit of the season Saturday afternoon courtesy of a single in the top of the third inning...it took Baker just 40 games this season to achieve the milestone...in 2022, OF Andrew Stevenson, who tied for the most hits in the International League with 152, took 44 games to reach 50 hits...Baker ranks sixth in the IL in hits and 12th in batting average (.327).

ROCKET MAN: CF DEREK HILL sent a 105.4 MPH rocket back up the middle to get Rochester on the board in the 7th inning... Hill's knock was the second-hardest recorded hit in Saturday's matchup, with 2B DARREN BAKER supplying the hardest hit ball, a 105.7 MPH ground ball to second base...the Wings are 14th in the International League for average exit velocity at 87.0 MPH...Rochester is led in average exit velocity (min. 50 at-bats), by 1B MATT ADAMS with an average of 89.2 MPH off the bat...

Baker's ground ball was the hardest by a Wings hitter that resulted in an out since 5/4, and the hardest hit ball by any Rochester hitter since LF TRAVIS BLANKENHORN's three-run home run on 5/18.

CAST AWAY(S): The Wings stranded 10 runners on base in Saturday's defeat, plating three in the fifth game of the Thruway series...for the second straight game, Rochester left double-digit runners on base after stranding 12 in Friday's 10-7 win over the Bisons...the Wings are 5-for-25 with RISP over the last two contests, and rank 13th in that category in the International League this season...

Rochester has stranded just 304 runners on base throughout the 2023 campaign, the third-fewest in Triple-A...

This is the first time Rochester has stranded 10 or more runners in back-to-back games this season.

BULLY-PEN: Rochester's bullpen continued its success against Buffalo, tossing 6.2 innings of one-run baseball Saturday afternoon...RHP LUIS REYES came out of the bullpen to relieve starter RHP CORY ABBOTT after he allowed seven earned through 1.1 innings...Reyes didn't allow a hit or run in his 2.2 innings of work...RHP TOMMY ROMERO submitted three innings of scoreless work, allowing a walk and two hits...RHP GERSON MORENO finished off with a scoreless inning of work...

The Wings bullpen has posted a 2.72 ERA (17 ER/56.1 IP) in 11 games against Buffalo this season, versus a 10.18 ERA (46 ER/40.2 IP) from starting pitchers.
