Charlotte Knights News Release
(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - The Charlotte Knights ended a two-week homestand with a 4-2 win over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Sunday afternoon from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. The Knights wrapped up the six-game series against the RailRiders with back-to-back wins.
LHP Nate Fisher (4-4, 3.83) started Sunday's game and notched his team-high fourth win of the season. Fisher allowed just two runs on seven hits over five innings for the win. He gave up both runs of the game in the top of the first inning to the RailRiders. After that, he settled in nicely.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Knights took a 3-2 lead thanks to a big three-run home run from first baseman Nate Mondou. The home run was his second in as many days and fifth of the season with the Knights. He finished the game with two hits and three RBI to lead the Knights offensively. Charlotte tacked on one more run in the bottom of the fourth inning when shortstop Zach Remillard raced home on a wild pitch.
The Charlotte bullpen was impressive on Sunday, holding the RailRiders scoreless over the final four frames. LHP Sammy Peralta allowed just two hits over two shutout innings. RHP Lane Ramsey shut the door on the game in the ninth inning to earn his team-leading fifth save of the season. He fanned two batters over a scoreless inning of work.
The Knights will have an off day on Monday before opening up a six-game series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins) on Tuesday night. The "Voice of the Knights" Matt Swierad will have the call for all of the action on www.CharlotteKnights.com. First pitch on Tuesday is set for 7:05 p.m. from Jacksonville, FL.
