RHP Trevor Cahill (0-0, 7.36) vs. RHP Jefry Rodriguez (1-1. 6.63)

WILD WINGS: The Rochester Red Wings survived a 9th inning rally by Syracuse to claim the Golden Fork in the Duel of the Dishes, following the 10-9 win...the Red Wings outfield collected eight hits in the Wings win last night, one where every hitter in the lineup picked up a knock on their way to a 15-hit performance...outfielder Andrew Stevenson slugged a seventh-inning homer, tallied four RBI, and joined first baseman Joey Meneses and fellow outfielder Josh Palacios as the only extra base hits in last night's fight at the bat rack...RHP Cory Abbott worked through the first three innings without allowing a run and striking out six in the process before handing the ball to the bullpen who then used six relievers who added 12 punchouts of their own to complete the win...the Wings send RHP Jefry Rodriguez to the mound in hopes of improving to 9-1 in games started by the Dominican Republic-native...he will oppose fellow righty, Trevor Cahill, in game four of the series.

KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK: The Red Wings finished last night's game with 18 strikeouts, their most in a nine-inning game since at least 2005...LHP Carson Teel, RHP Matt Brill, LHP Luis Avilan, RHP Jordan Weems and RHP Cory Abbott all contributed with multiple strikeouts...Abbott went three shutout innings on just two hits and six strikeouts...the 26-year-old's six K's ties his season-high on the year...the righty is now averaging 13.5 K/9, the highest mark amongst Wings starters this season...last night marked the first time a team won a game that Cory Abbott started this season (0-4 w/ IOW & ROC)

I PREFER MASHED POTATOES: The Rochester Plates won the Golden Fork with a win, 10-9, over the Syracuse Salt Potatoes...after defeating the Salt Potatoes on their turf on May 26 in game one of the series, 9-7, Rochester took the best of three series at home...the Plates reclaim the esteemed utensil for the first time since 2018, losing the duel in both 2019 and 2021 due to a tie-breaker that went Syracuse's way due to the run-differential determiner.

TOP 2, AND JOEY'S NOT 2: The Red Wings are the only team in the International League with two active players in the top ten in batting average; LF Andrew Stevenson (.307, 5th) and 1B Joey Meneses (.305, 7th)... in last night's game, Stevenson went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI...the 28-year-old has a hit in eight of his last nine games, going 15-for-35 (.429) during his run...since going 6-for-41 over a ten-game stretch, first baseman Joey Meneses is 4-for-12 (.300) with two doubles and two RBI in the series versus the Mets...Meneses leads the International League with 79 hits and Stevenson ranks third in the category with 77.

THE BANK OF ROCHESTER: Designated hitter Nick Banks made his return to the lineup after being placed on the Injured List on May 11...the designated hitter went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two walks, extending his hitting streak to eight games in a Red Wings uniform, tied for the longest active streak on the team (Ildemaro Vargas) ...Rochester is now 8-2 in games where the Lefty has an RBI.

JORDANS ONLY GO 6-FOR-6: RHP Jordan Weems' now has six saves in six opportunities versus Syracuse this year, accumulating a 2.22 ERA versus the Mets in 2022 (8.1 IP/ 2 ER)...Weems is one of four players with double-digit saves in the International League (10), which is tied for second in the IL....the 29-year-old has four saves in four consecutive outings since returning to Rochester on June 14...the 10-9 win improves Rochester's record to 14-5 in one-run games.

WHEN THEY GO HIGH, WE GO P-LO: Outfielder Josh Palacios went 3-for-4 with a double, RBI, two runs scored and a stolen bag in Rochester's 10-9 win over the Mets...two of Palacios' three hits came with runners on base...the lefty is second on the Wings squad in batting average with runners on base (.363, 33-for-91) while also logging the most hits (33).

HAIR ON FIRE: Center fielder Matt Lipka logged a 2-for-3 night with three runs scored, a walk, and three stolen bases...Lipka is the first Wing to log three swipes in a single contest since Pedro Florimon did so on August 18, 2014, also at home and against the Mets...with four swiped bags last night, Rochester has posted multiple steals in a contest 23 times and have stolen at least one bag in 39 games this year.

FIGHT AT THE BAT RACK: The Red Wings' offense collected 15 hits last night, their most in a single game since June 11th, against St. Paul (15) and tied for their second-most hits in a game this season (behind only April 16th, when they had 18 knocks in an extra-inning win over Buffalo) and the most in a nine inning game this year...every starter in the Rochester lineup collected at least one knock, while left fielder Andrew Stevenson, first baseman Joey Meneses, right fielder Josh Palacios, and center fielder Matt Lipka each recorded a multi-hit night...this marks the fourth game of the season with 15+ hits, and the third game where all nine starters have collected at least one.

2-OUT WARRIORS: In their one-run win yesterday, the Wings produced eight of their 15 knocks when down to the final out in an inning...Rochester ranks second in the International League for two-out batting average, logging a .258 AVG (196-for-759) and tying for second in total hits with 196 knocks...with six of their nine RBI coming of the two-out variety, Rochester places fifth in the IL in runs batted in (126) with two men retired.

JEFRY THE JEFE: The Wings will send right-hander Jefry Rodriguez to the mound tonight looking for their third consecutive win against the Mets' top affiliate...in two starts against Syracuse this season, Rodriguez has combined for 11 strikeouts in just seven innings of work, including his season-high of nine in his April 28th start...Rochester is 8-1 in games started by the former Cleveland Guardian, with the Rochester offense posting just over six and a half runs per game in those outings (6.56).
