Rochester Red Wings News Release

The Red Wings fell to the Syracuse Mets, 3-2, on Friday evening at Frontier Field. The series is tied at two games apiece.

RHP Jefry Rodriguez started and gave up a pair of runs and a pair of hits in 3 1/3 innings. LHP Sam Clay, RHP Patrick Murphy, and RHP Curtis Taylor saw the mound and threw a series of scoreless innings until RHP Tyler Clippard gave up a run in the eighth. C Tres Barrera committed the error, throwing an errant pickoff attempt that saw the Mets take a 3-2 lead. LHP Alberto Baldonado closed the game out in the ninth.

SS Ildemaro Vargas and CF Matt Lipka accounted for Rochester's two runs, both scoring off singles from RF Josh Palacios in the first and third innings, respectively. The Wings had a 2-0 lead in the third, but a homer and an RBI single for the Mets tied it up in the fourth. Barrera's error would be the game winning run for the Mets.

With tonight's loss, Rochester's record falls to 39-31.

The Wings will host Syracuse at 7:05 p.m. at Frontier Field on Saturday night in game five of the series.
