RoadRunners Bolster Blue Line With Nathe

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, an affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, have acquired defenseman Bryan Nathe from the Victoria Salmon Kings in exchange for future considerations.

Nathe, 24, has one assist and a minus-four rating in 16 games combined this season between the Salmon Kings and the Johnstown Chiefs. The Elk River, Minn. Native and fourth-year professional has tallied five goals, 32 assists, and 37 points in 205 career ECHL games since beginning his professional career in 2004-05 with the Dayton Bombers.

Nathe collected four goals and 30 points in 101 games from 2002-04 with the Brandon Wheat Kings and Everett Silver Tips of the Western Hockey League after leaving Northeastern University midway through his sophomore season. He also played two seasons for the U.S. National Development Program from 1998-2000.

Phoenix returns to US Airways Center at 7:11 p.m. Thursday as they open a two-game series with the visiting Victoria Salmon Kings. The RoadRunners will also be hosting their first ever Kids Coat Drive to benefit Sanderson Ford's sixth annual "Operation Santa Claus". Fans are encouraged to bring new and used kids coats to drop off in the Casino Arizona Pavilion.
