Rivermen Sign Ethan Cox to PTO

Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today that the club has signed forward Ethan Cox to a professional tryout contract (PTO).

Cox, 23, is in his first professional season and attended training camp with the Rivermen. He has appeared in 31 games with Peoria's ECHL affiliate, the Alaska Aces. He has 12 points (six goals, 6 assists), 23 penalty minutes and is a plus-4 with the Aces. In late November, he was signed to a PTO by the AHL's Portland Pirates and recorded an assist against Providence on Nov. 28.

A native of Richmond, British Columbia, Cox played the last four seasons for Colgate University, and was named the squad's best defensive player in both his junior and senior year while he served as the team captain. In his four collegiate seasons he collected 41 points (17 goals, 24 assists) in 150 games.
