Dallas Returns Larsen to Texas

Cedar Park, TX - The Dallas Stars announced on Thursday that the club has assigned defenseman Philip Larsen to the Texas Stars, Dallas' primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Larsen, 21, has skated in six games for Dallas this season, collecting two assists. He has spent the majority of 2010-11 with Texas, playing in 29 games, recording 13 assists and eight penalty minutes with a +7 plus/minus rating. The Esbjerg, Denmark, native made his NHL debut last season with Dallas, dressing in two games and posting one assist.

Larsen skated in 116 games from 2006-2010 for Vastra Frolunda of the Swedish Elite League, tallying 27 points (3g, 24a). The 6-1, 183-pound defenseman was drafted by Dallas in the fifth round (149th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

The Texas Stars continue a three-game road trip Friday, January 14th in Rockford at 7:05 PM. Texas will also make a stop in Peoria before heading back to Cedar Park Center. The Stars return home on Tuesday, January 18th at 7:30 PM to take on the Grand Rapids Griffins. Every Tuesday, fans may bring any HEB store brand food product to receive $5 off their ticket price. Every Tuesday game is also 3-2-1 night with $3 domestic drafts, $2 sodas, and $1 hot dogs.
