Laredo 5 Memphis 4 @ DCC

The Bucks' Chris Korchinski broke a 4-4 tie in the third period to give the Bucks the win and a split of the two game weekend at the DCC. After falling behind 1-0 on Travis Banga's team high eighth goal, the Bucks scored three straight in the first period to take a 3-1 lead into the second. Derek Landmesser and Mark Cole scored within a minute of each other to tie it at three in the second. After Laredo took the lead back, Steve Makway tied it again at four heading into the third period. Memphis out-shot Laredo 33-24 for the game.

COLORODO OVERTAKES RIVERKINGS FOR #1 IN WEEKLY POLL

The RiverKings are rated number two in this week's CHL Coaches Poll. After being the top team last week, the RiverKings slipped to number two behind the Colorado Eagles. The Eagles are the fourth different team to hold the top spot in the four weeks of the poll's existence. The complete poll and details can be found at www.centralhockeyleague.com.

RIVERKINGS HERE AND THERE

Forward Darrell Stoddard is currently on a career high 5-game point streak. He has 2 goals and 6 assists during the streak.

Defenseman Jason Tessier has a career high matching 4 game assist streak entering this weekend's games. He has also registered at least one point in 6 of the last 7 games.

Defenseman Derek Landmesser and Center Louis Dumont are also on point streaks. Both veterans have registered at least one point in the last 7 games. Dumont has 4 goals and 10 assists in that span. Landmesser has 3 goals and 10 assists in the 7 games. Dumont's career long streak is 13 games while Landmesser's is 10.

After scoring his second goal of the season in Saturday's game with Laredo, defenseman Mark Cole is one shy of his single season career high. During the 2003-04 season, he scored three goals between his time with Fort Wayne (UHL), Miami (WHA2) and Huntsville (SEHL).

Goalie Larry Sterling matched his career high personal winning streak with five straight victories from 11/4-11/17.

The RiverKings have not allowed an opponent more than 26 shots on goal in the last 6 games. During that stretch, opposing teams are averaging just 22.5 shots on net per game. For the season, the RiverKings are second in the CHL in both goals against average (2.38) and fewest shots against per game (26.67). On the offensive side, the RiverKings are 4th in the league in goals scored per game (3.83) and 10th in shots on goal per game (31.58).

THE STAT

"3" --- Four times this season the RiverKings have held an opponent to 3 shots on goal in a period; the most recent being in Saturday night's third period versus Laredo.

RIVERKINGS PROGRAMS ARE TRUE COLLECTORS ITEMS THIS SEASON

The RiverKings Game Day Program is a must purchase when you come to a game. There will be 13 different editions printed throughout the season with several updated features from edition to edition, including a different cover each edition, an updated schedule with game results and updated player photos for any future roster changes (great for player autographs). The program has also gotten into the spirit of the team's 15th anniversary. Each program edition will have a different RiverKings history story that goes back and profiles a former player or coach from past RiverKings seasons. To go even farther back, each program edition will also have a feature about when hockey was here in the 60's when the Memphis Wings and South Stars called the Mid-South Coliseum home. A program sells for $2 and includes a game-day insert with rosters and notes about that night's game included. The game-day insert sells for $1 by itself. Programs are sold at the main west entrance to the DCC arena before the game and also at the two merchandise stands before and during the game.
