November 22, 2006 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release

The Colorado Eagles have taken over top spot in the Central Hockey League Top 10 Coaches Poll, establishing new poll highs with 13 first place votes and 156 total points. The Eagles have risen steadily in the poll, climbing from 5th to 3rd, to 2nd and finally to #1 this week. Colorado enters play Wednesday evening with the CHL's highest winning percentage (.818) and leads the circuit in both average goals per game (4.73) and power play success (26.5%). With 27 power play goals and nine shorthanded scores, 69.2% of Colorado's 52 goals this season have come in special teams situations.

The Memphis RiverKings, last week's #1, slip to second, while the Lubbock Cotton Kings hurdled the Laredo Bucks into third position, their highest ranking of the season. Other clubs rising in the poll this week were the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs (9th to 7th), and the Corpus Christi Rayz (Not Ranked to 9th).

Each week throughout the season the CHL will release the results of the Coaches Poll. Each first place selection earns 10 points, second place earns 9 points, etc. Coaches cannot vote for their own team, creating a potential perfect score of 160 points should one club receive all 16 possible first place votes.
