SATURDAY'S GAME ON 96.1 WYYL

The radio broadcast of Saturday night's game versus Laredo will be heard on 96.1 FM WYYL. The game is being moved from Sports56 WHBQ (AM 560) due to a conflict with Ole Miss football. Friday's game will be on Sports56 as usual.

RIVERKINGS HERE AND THERE

The RiverKings'current five game winning streak is the longest since a 6 gamer late in the 2004-05 season from 2/19/05-3/5/05.

The RiverKings' 7-1-2 (16 pts, .800) start matches the best start, points and winning percentage-wise, in team history. In the 2001-02 and 2003-04 seasons, the team started 8-2-0 (16 pts, .800).

The team's 3-0 start on the road also matches the franchise's best road start. The 2000-01 RiverKings started 3-0 in their first 3 road games before falling to Oklahoma City in their fourth game away from the DCC.

The RiverKings are one of three teams that have five players with 10 or more points. Colorado and Lubbock are the others. On the RiverKings, Louis Dumont (13), Jason Sessa (12), Travis Banga (12), Derek Landmesser (12), Ryan Campbell (10) are in double digits.

Defenseman Derek Landmesser moved up on a couple of lists in the RiverKings Record Book. His assist in Saturday's win at Corpus Christi moved him past Don Parsons for second on the All-Time Assist List with 263. He is also just 9 shy of Derek Grant's top total of 272. The 6th year RiverKings also tied Derek Grant for the number two spot on the RiverKings All-Time Games Played List when he took the ice on Saturday at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi. It was Landmesser's 317th game in a RiverKings jersey. Parsons tops the games played list with 367.

The 4-0 shutout of the Corpus Christi Rayz on Saturday was the first for the RiverKings since January 29, 2005 when the team blanked the Laredo Bucks 8-0. David Lemanowicz was the winning goalie in the game. For Larry Sterling, the shutout was the third of his career and the first that didn't come against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.

Sterling's shutout performance on Saturday moved him to 3rd in the CHL in goals against average at 2.04 and 7th in save percentage at .923. The league leaders are at 1.67 and .949, respectively.

UPCOMING RIVERKINGS BIRTHDAYS

Larry Sterling turned 24 today, Wednesday, 11/15

THE STAT

"200+200=400" RiverKings winger Jason Sessa picked up both his 200th goal and 200th assist in Thursday's 5-2 win over Wichita. Sessa had a goal and two assists in the game.

RIVERKINGS PROGRAMS ARE TRUE COLLECTORS ITEMS THIS SEASON

The RiverKings Game Day Program is a must purchase when you come to a game. There will be 13 different editions printed throughout the season with several updated features from edition to edition, including a different cover each edition, an updated schedule with game results and updated player photos for any future roster changes (great for player autographs). The program has also gotten into the spirit of the team's 15th anniversary. Each program edition will have a different RiverKings history story that goes back and profiles a former player or coach from past RiverKings seasons. To go even farther back, each program edition will also have a feature about when hockey was here in the 60's when the Memphis Wings and South Stars called the Mid-South Coliseum home. A program sells for $2 and includes a game-day insert with rosters and notes about that night's game included. The game-day insert sells for $1 by itself. Programs are sold at the main west entrance to the DCC arena before the game and also at the two merchandise stands before and during the game.
