March 19, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Mississippi RiverKings News Release

As the Mississippi RiverKings get on the bus to Oklahoma City today, they will keep an eye on three Central Hockey League games tonight that could affect their postseason chances.

The most important game of the three won't begin until 9:05 tonight, as the Rocky Mountain Rage visits the Arizona Sundogs. The Rage trails the RiverKings by one point for the fifth and final Northern Conference playoff spot. Each team has three games remaining. Meanwhile, the Sundogs last night clinched the Southwest Division with an 8-6 win in New Mexico over the Scorpions. They have a game in hand on the Laredo Bucks and trail them for the best record in the Southern Conference by five points with three games remaining.

At 6:05 this evening, the Youngstown SteelHounds host the Colorado Eagles in the first of three games in four nights at Chevrolet Centre to finish the season. The SteelHounds lead the RiverKings by one point for fourth place. As for the Eagles, they lead the Northwest Division by five points over the Rage. If the Eagles win or the Rage loses, then the Eagles will win their fifth division title in as many years.

At 7:05 tonight, the Texas Brahmas venture to Valley Center to take on the Wichita Thunder. The Brahmas lead the SteelHounds by three points for third position. If the Brahmas win, then the RiverKings will have no chance to finish third. Also, if the Brahmas win and the SteelHounds lose, then the Brahmas will clinch third.

The RiverKings visit the Blazers tomorrow before coming home to finish their 64-game schedule against the Corpus Christi Rayz on Friday and Saturday. All games begin at 7:05 p.m. The broadcasts begin at 6:55 p.m. on Y96.1FM.
