
RiverDogs to host 2006 UHL All-Star Classic

Richmond, VA - The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Monday that the Richmond RiverDogs will host the 2006 UHL All-Star Classic. The event will be played at the Richmond Coliseum on Tuesday, January 24, 2006.
"The demand and enthusiasm for the sport of hockey in the Virginia area is incredible. The UHL and its Board of Governors are confident in the Richmond RiverDogs franchise, its owners and partners, and believe that next year's all-star game will be a great success," stated UHL President/CEO Richard Brosal.
"We are thrilled by the decision of the UHL and its Board of Governors to grant us the 2006 All-Star Classic. Entering our third season with a continuously growing fan base, we anticipate great success and guarantee the fans an incredible show. The RiverDogs are honored to host the best of the UHL, its players and fans," said RiverDogs owner Glenn Morelli.
Additional and specific details regarding the 2006 UHL All-Star Classic will be released at a later date.
Wednesday, February 9 NASCAR driver and 2004 Rookie of the Year Kasey Kahne will be on hand as the âDogs face the Port Huron Beacons at 7:35 PM. The âDogs will wear racing themed jerseys autographed by Kahne that will be auctioned off following the game. There will also be a pre-game VIP party with Kahne.
