In Brief

· 1/28: Beacons Defeat the Outlaws

The Beacons started the road trip on a high note defeating the Outlaws 6-3 in the first of two meetings. It was the Outlaws who scored first but the Beacons rolled off six straight goals to take a 6-2 lead into the third period. Gabriel Proulx (9, 7 as a Beacon), David Beauregard 2 (30,31), Aaron Brand (12), Trevor Edwards (10) and Josh Tataryn (16) all scored for the Beacons. Daniel Berthiaume shut the door as he made 33 saves on 36 shots to secure the first win of the eight game road trip.

· 1/29: Beacons Bitten by the RiverOtters

It was the second meeting between these two teams as they faced-off back in November with the Beacons defeating the Otters 5-2. It was the RiverOtters this time that got the better of the Beacons. The RiverOtters tallied three power-play goals on five attempts while the Beacons scored both their goals while even strength. Andrew McPherson (6) and Chris Slater (3) tallied the lone goals for the Beacons while Malcolm MacMillan tallied the lone assist (17). Daniel Berthiaume started in net once again making 35 saves on 38 shots.

· 1/30: Outlaws get revenge

The Beacons returned to Kansas City for the second game in three days against the Outlaws and third straight game in as many days. The Beacons had a 2-1 lead after the first period however, the Outlaws from there on out would control the game having outscored the Beacons 3-1 in the final 40 minutes of play. Joey Sewell (21) and David Beauregard 2 (32, 33) both scored for the Beacons. Daniel Berthiaume started again for the third game in a row and came up with 39 saves on 43 shots.

Upcoming Games: Week Seventeen

This week the Beacons travel East for part of their eight game road trip. The Beacons face four different teams in a span of five days. After this portion the Beacons travel back West to play the Rockford IceHogs.

· 2/2: Bring on the RiverDogs

This is the fourth meeting between these two teams with the Beacons winning two of the three. FACE-OFF: 7:35 p.m.

· 2/4: Beacons face another kind of "dog"

The Beacons face the Elmira Jackals for the third time this season with the season series tied at one. FACE-OFF: 7:30 p.m.

· 2/5: The Beacons hope to not get Frostbitten This is the third meeting with each team winning one of the games. FACE-OFF: 7:05 p.m.

· 2/6: The Beacons face the Danbury Trashers The Beacons will be facing the Trashers for the third time this season. Port Huron leads the season series 1-0-1. FACE-OFF: 3:00 p.m.

Hot Streak!!

The Beacons remain one of the hottest teams in the league. The Beacons have gone 18-10-1 since starting the season with a 2-12-1 record.

Weekly Nominees

Player of the Week

The Beacons nominate David Beauregard as the Sher Wood Player of the week. Beauregard finished the week with 5 points in three games played. Beauregard was +1 for the week and tallied 4 goals and 1 assist on 17 shots for the weekend's action including 1 PPG.

Goaltender of the Week

The Beacons nominate Daniel Berthiaume as the Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week. Berthiaume finished the week 1-2-0 in 178:14 minutes played with 107 saves on 117 shots for a .910 SV% and a 3.37 GAA.

Monthly Nominees

Player of the Month

The Beacons nominate David Beauregard as the Sher Wood Player of the Month for the Month of January. Beauregard finished the month with 15 points in 11 games played. Beauregard was an E rating while compiling 10 goals and 5 assists including 3 PPG's.

Goaltender of the Month

The Beacons nominate Daniel Berthiaume for the Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Month for the Month of January. Berthiaume finished the month with a 4-4-0 record, while making 254 saves on 285 shots. Berthiaume compiled a .890 SV% with a 3.60 GAA.

The Beacons have partnered with CN Railroad and Citizens First Bank to award individuals and or groups in the community that have strived to make this area a better place to live, by inviting them to enjoy an exciting night at a Beacons hockey game.

The coaches show returns to the Brass Rail for another exciting season. Join Beacons play-by-play announcer, Dennis Stuckey along with Head Coach, Rick Adduono for in depth analysis of the weekends action and questions from fans of all ages. Select Beacon players will also be appearing throughout the season. Of course if you cannot make it down to the Brass Rail you can always tune into AM 1450 and AM 1590, also your home for hockey action all year long both home and away.
