
RiverDogs Pitching Stymies Braves

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves fell short against the Charleston RiverDogs losing 3-1 Saturday night in front of 3,387 fans at State Mutual Stadium. It was Rome's first home loss against Charleston this season (10-1).
The Braves took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Riaan Spanjer-Furstenburg led off the inning with a double and later scored on a Christian Bethancourt RBI single. The RiverDogs went ahead 2-1 in the third. Kelvin Castro led off with a double followed by a single from Deangelo Mack to move him to third. JR Murphy then doubled to bring in two runs. Charleston would extend their lead to 3-1 on an RBI base hit from Hector Rabago and would hold on for the win.
Gabriel Tatis (2-2) picks up the win for Charleston while Rome's Brett DeVall (4-6) gets the loss. Ryan Flannery (10) picks up the save. Rome and Charleston play again tomorrow afternoon at 2pm for game four of the series.
