GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Charleston RiverDogs trailed by one after four innings Friday night, but Vince Conde's two-run home run in the fifth helped lift the R'Dogs to a 6-2 victory over the Greenville Drive in the series opener at Fluor Field at the West End.

The one-out home run over the wall in left-center was Conde's fourth of the season. He now has two home runs and 10 RBIs in the last four games. Six of his last seven hits are of the extra-base variety.

After Conde's homer gave Charleston (18-29 second half, 52-65 overall) their first lead of the game, the RiverDogs tallied three insurance runs in the top of the seventh. Conde led off the inning with a double and Bo Thompson brought him home with a single to left.

Billy Fleming followed with a single and Austin Aune's ground out put runners at second and third. Isaias Tejeda laced a single past the shortstop Javier Guerra and both Thompson and Fleming came in to score, which upped the lead to 6-3.

Rony Bautista (4-5) picked up his first win since June 8 and his first win as a starter this season. Bautista pitched six innings and only gave up two hits, a double by Yoan Moncada and a two-run home run off the bat of Rafael Devers. The homer was Devers' 11th of the season.

After the two, third-inning hits, Greenville (21-26, 59-58) did not get another one for the remainder of the game. The combination of Bautista, Conner Kendrick, and Philip Walby combined to retire the final 19 Drive hitters in a row.

The RiverDogs cut the Drive's lead in half when Fleming scored on Tejeda's RBI ground out in the fourth. Tejeda drove in three runs in the game and has seven RBIs in the last four games.

Michael Gunn (0-3) gave up five of the six RiverDogs runs and only lasted 2 1/3 innings. Gunn came out of the bullpen to replace Greenville's starter Ben Taylor who pitched the first four.
