Charleston RiverDogs News Release

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Following a short, three-game road trip to Greenville over the weekend, the Charleston RiverDogs happily return to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park for a seven-game homestand. The Rome Braves (Braves affiliate) visit the Lowcountry for three games followed by a four-game series against the Augusta GreenJackets (Giants affiliate). Both Rome and Augusta will be making their third and final visits to The Joe this season.

Monday, August 17, 7:05 pm: HOPE Week starts Monday, as the RiverDogs team up with the New York Yankees "Helping Others Persevere and Excel" initiative and bring it to Charleston for the fourth year in a row. The RiverDogs and all of the Yankees' affiliates garner awareness for highlighted causes, individuals, and organizations. Monday's HOPE Week initiative Major Thomas Richmond and Jennifer Richmond have been with the Salvation Army organization for 20 years and currently serve as the Commanding Officers and pastors here in Charleston. Their work covers the Berkley, Charleston and Dorchester Counties where they oversee The Salvation Army's work. Every Monday at The Joe is Coors Monday Night Baseball, presented by Kickin' 92.5. Visit the Ashley View Pub for $1 hot dogs and $1 draft beers as the RiverDogs spoof Monday Night Football. Dogs With a Cause will feature the Charles Webb Center/Avondale 5K. The Charles Webb Center is a developmental day care operated by the Disabilities Board of Charleston County, serving children with special needs from age six weeks to 10 years old. Finally, go all out and show us how much you love the RiverDogs during Super Fan Night!

Tuesday, August 18, 7:05 pm: HOPE Week continues Tuesday with the Green Heart Project, a community-based volunteer organization that integrates school farms as outdoor classrooms. Players will assist the Green Heart Project staff in fixing up their new storefront and visiting one of the gardens. Whether it is your first date or you have been together for decades, bring your special someone to Miller Lite Tuesday Date Night at The Joe, presented by NASH FM. On the main concourse, we will have our Miller Lite "Bro Zone" set up where bros can grab a beer, relax, play some cornhole and enjoy the game. For this Tuesday home game, any duo of fans will receive a special 2-for-$20 deal at the box office. The promotion includes two game tickets, two tacos, two fountain drinks, and one tray of nachos all for $20. Whether you have a significant other or just want to hang out with a friend, come to The Joe and enjoy Tuesday's spectacular promotion.

Wednesday, August 19, 7:05 pm: HOPE Week continues Wednesday with Keys for Hope, a project that raises money and awareness for our local homeless shelter One80 Place. This project engages kids by decorating recycled, painted keys, and turning them into symbols of hope. These keys can be purchased at the game Wednesday night, and players will be spending the afternoon serving lunch at One80 Place. In the wake of the recent tragedies in Charleston and Chattanooga, Tenn., the RiverDogs will swap hats with the Lookouts for Wednesday's game. Both teams will conduct an auction with proceeds donated to charity. Wednesday is Military Appreciation Night presented by ISHPI. All active, retired, and immediate military families get in for free. Every Wednesday home game at The Joe is a HealthSouth Senior Wednesday, presented by MeTV. Seniors who enter the park before 7 p.m. receive a food voucher for a complimentary hot dog, 16-ounce fountain drink, and bag of chips. It is also Hump Day presented by Z93.

Thursday, August 20, 7:05 pm: HOPE Week continues Thursday with the Surfers Healing Folly Beach Camp, the original surf camp for children with autism. Players will be on site at the camp handing out medals to the children who complete their surfing lessons, passing out water, and hanging out with the kids at the beach. This is the final Thirsty Thursday of the 2015 season. Enjoy "Happy Hour" with $1 beers and music in the Ashley View Pub presented by Budweiser. DJ Natty Heavy will once again spin popular tunes throughout the game, presented by 95SX. TOGA...TOGA...TOGA! It's time for a toga party at The Joe on Thursday night! Every Thursday, the RiverDogs pay homage to the standard red Solo cup, everybody's favorite beverage receptacle. During the Seventh Inning Stretch after "Take Me Out to the Ball Game," the Red Solo Cup song will play in the stadium and all fans in attendance will toast to the red Solo cup.

Friday, August 21, 7:05 pm: HOPE Week continues Friday with an initiative to help support 4-year-old Abigail Grace Lee, a young girl born with mosaic Down Syndrome and hypoplastic left heart syndrome. As Abigail prepared for her third open-heart surgery, blood tests revealed she had acute myeloid leukemia. After completing a few rounds of chemo, Abigail's test results revealed she was cancer free! Players will be escorting Abigail in a limo and spending the morning with her at Frankie's Fun Park. Friday night is MedTrust Medical Transport Night at The Joe. While you are well and do not need it, you can get the rare opportunity to glance inside an emergency response vehicle. Visit the "Living Well" tent on Friday as two medical transport vehicles, one emergency and one non-emergency, will be on hand for fans to tour. Friday is the 10th and final ISHPI Red Shirt Friday of the season and is presented by WEZL, with postgame fireworks over the scenic Ashley River presented by Home Telecom. Support the military by wearing red and when you come to the box office, you can receive $1 off your ticket. Fans will then have the option to donate that dollar to the Wounded Warrior Corps. The RiverDogs will once again wear their special red jerseys as a show of support for our military. This is the final time the RiverDogs will wear the red jerseys, and they will be auctioned off to fans during the game. Friday is also Bike Night at The Joe. Help keep the Earth green and ride your bicycle to the stadium to receive special bike parking in front of the stadium!

Komen Race for the Cure. Ever dream of rounding third base and heading for home at The Joe? Saturday night is another chance to make that dream come true, as kids are able to run around the diamond every Saturday, with the Postgame Kids Run the Bases program presented by CPI Security Systems.
