RiverDogs Host Hagerstown Suns in Upcoming Four-Game Homestand

CHARLESTON, SC - Following a seven-game road trip, the Charleston RiverDogs return to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park from Thursday, July 31 through Sunday, August 3. This four-game homestand includes a visit from the Hagerstown Suns while the RiverDogs celebrate a veritable cornucopia of festive events and celebrations.

Thursday, July 31, 7:05 pm: The RiverDogs kick off this homestand with another Budweiser Thirsty Thursday, courtesy of 95SX. The Ashley View Pub will host $1 drafts and entertainment from DJ Natty Heavy and Wild Wing Cafe will also sponsor a wing-eating contest in the Ashley View Pub. Prior to Thursday's contest, a sailor reenlistment ceremony will take place, and Naval Health Clinic Charleston will provide the color guard.

Friday, August 1, 7:05 pm: It is ISHPI Red Shirt Friday, presented by 103.5 WEZL. Fans that wear red to the game can save $1 off their ticket purchase at the box office or donate that dollar to Canines for Veterans and Folds of Honor. Gullah Heritage Night will be celebrated, featuring an official Gullah Heritage proclamation before the contest along with Gullah Heritage displays on the concourse. Rob English will be inducted as the latest member of the Professional Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame in a special pregame ceremony. McGruff the Crime Dog is scheduled to appear at The Joe and "take a bite out of crime" in conjunction with National Night Out. The RiverDogs will again wear red jerseys in support of the military, and Titus the Wonder Dog will serve as a batdog for an inning. Celebrate $3 Aluminum Pint Night from Miller and Coors in the Ashley View Pub, and after the game, stick around for another exciting fireworks display over the scenic Ashley River.

Saturday, August 2, 6:05 pm: Rainbows Day is on tap, presented by Charleston Pride and Dudley's on Anne. The RiverDogs will turn back the clock to the 1980s when the team's nickname was the Rainbows (for Charleston's famed "Rainbow Row") by wearing retro uniforms that will also be auctioned off during the contest. Social Media Saturday invites fans to use Facebook and Twitter to send the RiverDogs requests for songs, promotions and other ballpark features. Summerville Night is all about sweet tea, including a frozen tea-shirt contest, a sweet tea chugging contest and sweet tea will also be distributed to fans near the front gate. Ed Randall Bat for the Cure will host a silent auction of team-signed memorabilia to raise money for the fight against prostate cancer. As on every Saturday, kids can run around the bases after the game.

Sunday, August 3, 5:05 pm: The homestand closes on another CCPRC and Crews Subaru Kids Club Sunday, sponsored by Y102.5. All members of Charlie's Kids Club get free admission to the contest. Parking is free, and all children (age 12 & under) will receive a voucher for a free hot dog, a fountain drink and chips for Kids Eat Free from Pepsi. The RiverDogs will host a Holiday Celebration, honoring a different holiday during each inning of the ballgame. Santa Claus and the Salvation Army will be on the main concourse. The team will wear its sleek seersucker uniforms on Seersucker Sunday and fans that wear seersucker to the game can save $1 off their ticket purchase at the box office or donate that dollar to the Preservation Society of Charleston and the Historic Charleston Foundation. Daniel Island Night encourages RiverDogs fans from DI to celebrate a day at The Joe. It is also Arts Night and Library Night. Working with the Charleston County Public Library and its 16 local branches, the RiverDogs will reward children that complete their summer reading assignment with a free ticket and a free food voucher for the game. All fans can enjoy pregame catch on the field and postgame autographs with the RiverDogs. The "Smokin' Chef" series will also continue at the RiverDogs' new meat smoker.

The final 13 RiverDogs home games during the regular season will take place during the month of August.
