River Rats' Guns and Hoses Night to honor local police, fire and emergency services

Albany N.Y. – The Albany River Rats today announced that its annual "Guns-N-Hoses" Night will be held in special honor of Lt. John Finn and the host of dedicated police, fire and emergency services personnel in the region. "Guns-N-Hoses" is the latest in a series of events sponsored by the River Rats to benefit local police and fire departments, including Lt. John Finn who was seriously injured in the line of duty. The game versus the Rochester Americans, presented by Bromley Mountain and the New York State Lottery, is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm, Saturday, January 31 at the Pepsi Arena.

In addition to hockey featuring the top young players in the American Hockey League and intermission entertainment, the game will feature a special raffle including a variety of prizes. The River Rats will donate all proceeds from the raffle, and a portion of all group ticket sales for the evening, to the Albany Police and Fireman's Fund as well as the family of Lt. John Finn.

"Our annual ‘Guns-N-Hoses' game promises to be a lot of fun, and we hope it will raise significant funds for the Albany Police and Fireman's Fund and the Finn family," said Garen Szablewski, President and CEO of the Albany River Rats. "The River Rats have always had strong community ties and we're pleased to be able to recognize and support those who often risk their own lives to keep us all safe and secure."

Discount game tickets for police, fire and emergency personnel and their families are available through their departments or by calling the River Rats at 487-2244 and identifying themselves and their department.

The raffle tickets will be sold during the first two periods with prizes awarded during the third period of the game. Raffle tickets will be priced at $5, $3, and $2 depending on the value of the prize being offered (See attached). Prizes include ski vacations at Bromley Mountain, autographed New Jersey Devils and River Rats memorabilia, dinners at local restaurants, and more.
