Atlanta Returns Swanson to Chicago

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned center Brian Swanson to the Chicago Wolves.

Swanson posted one assist in two games with the Thrashers after being recalled on Jan. 23.

The 27-year-old forward ranks fourth on the Wolves with 10 goals and 17 assists, and third on the team with 27 points in 42 games this season. He also shares the team-lead with three game-winning goals.

Last season, Swanson tallied two goals, 10 assists and 12 points in a career-high 44 National Hockey League games with the Edmonton Oilers. Overall, the Eagle River, Alaska, native has recorded four goals, 13 assists and 17 points in 70 NHL games with the Oilers and Thrashers spanning four seasons (2000-2004).

Swanson, who signed with Atlanta as a free agent on July 24, 2003, played parts of four seasons in the AHL, tallying 71 goals, 108 assists and 179 points in 187 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack (1998-99) and Hamilton Bulldogs (1999-2002).
