River Rats Broadcasts Find New Home

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that they have reached an agreement with NEWSTALK 590 WROW AM to broadcast all 80 regular season games plus all potential Calder Cup Playoff match-ups as the team's Flagship station for the 2009-10 American Hockey League season.

"We are excited to begin a new chapter with this partnership," said Jonathan Scherzer, the Rats' VP of Marketing and Communications. "The ability to have every game over the air was important and we look forward to the resumption of the Northway Rivalry and not having our fans miss a second of the action."

Albany will air every game over the air along with a live audio internet stream at www.wrow.com. Streaming pay-per-view video broadcasts of every Albany game is also available at www.ahllive.com.

Scherzer will return as the River Rats' play-by-play broadcaster for the 2009-10 season, returning to the position he held from 2001-05. "I am proud to have the opportunity to once again serve as the "Voice" of the River Rats and look forward to a special season."

"The River Rats are a natural fit for our audience and should provide another thrilling season both on the ice and on the air". Albany opens its season this Saturday, October 3rd at the Times Union Center in a 7:00p.m. faceoff against the Manchester Monarchs.
