Sacramento River Cats News Release
The Sacramento River Cats (51-29) lost 3-2 to the Omaha Royals (40-40) Tuesday at Raley Field. The Cats rallied in the ninth to score a run, but LHP Les Walrond came in and ended Sacramento's rally by getting RF Jason Grabowski out with two runners on and two outs. RHP Mike Wood (3-1) took the loss for the Cats, allowing 2 ER on 7 H in 7.0 IP. Former River Cats pitcher Mike Fyhrie (4-1) earned the win for Omaha, allowing just 1 ER on 6 H in 7.1 IP. Walrond picked up the save for the Royals. RF Jason Grabowski and CF Chris Prieto led the Cats' offense with 2 H each.
Sacramento will have Wednesday off, and it will begin an eight-game roadtrip on Thursday at Fresno. With today's loss, the River Cats are now 22 games above .500 (80 games) and 24-12 in 36 games at Raley Field.
