Frisco runs roughshod over Round Rock
June 24, 2003 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Round Rock Express News Release
For one inning, the Round Rock Express reverted back to their first half struggles. That was more than enough to give the Frisco RoughRiders an 8-4 win over Round Rock.
10,920 at The Dell Diamond saw Frisco explode for six runs in the fourth inning. Four hits and a costly throwing error by first baseman Jacques Landry opened the floodgates. The biggest hits were a double by Marshall McDougall to open the inning and a two run double by Andrew Beinbrink.
That was enough for C.J. Wilson to get the win. Wilson had a remarkable outing, going seven strong innings, allowing only seven hits and two runs while striking out six. The Express threatened a few times, but were only 4 for 17 with runners on base.
The only offensive highlights came from RBI singles from Eric Cole and Anthony Acevedo in the eighth and Michael Rosamond and John Tamargo's 3 for 4 nights.
Chad Qualls (3-8) took the loss after giving up six runs, five earned, on five hits in 3.1 innings.
Wilson (4-5) got the win.
The four game series will continue with game three Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m.
