WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats are introducing an easy way to volunteer in the greater Sacramento community through Cats Care, a program designed for fans, players, front office members, and partners to make a difference in the community without having to spend time searching where and how.

The Cats Care program is easy to join. Fans can become a member by providing their name and email at the Western Health Advantage Information Center located at the top of Section 112 of the Concourse Level at Raley Field during all home games. Fans can also sign up for Cats Care at rivercats.com.

Fans simply choose which opportunities best suit their interests and availability, and join in participation with fellow River Cats fans who want to make a difference in the community. Every month, the River Cats will provide Cats Care members with a list of volunteer opportunities in which to participate. Additionally, upon sign-up, members will be entered to win a River Cats 4-Pack that includes four tickets, four hats, and a $20 Raley Field Gift Card.

Some upcoming Cats Care events include: Fab 40s 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, July 26 (8 a.m.) held at East Lawn Memorial Park, Food Bank Players' Wives Food Drive on Saturday, Aug. 2 (7:05 p.m.) at Raley Field, and a blood drive on Saturday, August 9 (11 a.m.) also at Raley Field. Other opportunities to look for are an Animal Shelter Day, ALS/Autism/Leukemia Walks at the ballpark, and a River Clean-up.
