Salt Lake Bees News Release

The Salt Lake Bees exploded for six runs in the top of the tenth inning, as they defeated the Fresno Grizzlies 9-3 on Sunday night. Taylor Lindsey started off the scoring by leading off the tenth with a pinch hit home run that hit high off of the batter's eye in centerfield. Matt Long walked and scored from first on a triple to right center by J.B. Shuck, who came home when Fresno right fielder Adalberto Santos dropped a fly ball off of the bat of Luis Jimenez to make it 6-3. Jimenez, who reached second base on the error, scored on a single to center by Efren Navarro, who took second on the throw to the plate. Navarro advanced to third on a single by Roberto Lopez and came home on a ground out by Tommy Field to make it 8-3. John Hester capped off the scoring by driving home Lopez with a single to center.

Yoslan Herrera (1-3), who worked out of a first and second one out jam in the ninth with back-to-back strikeouts, earned the win for Salt Lake, which earned a split in the four game series at Fresno. Bees' reliever Kyler Newby walked the first two batters he faced in the bottom of the tenth, but escaped without the Grizzlies getting on the board. Hester led the Bees with two hits, including a double, and two runs batted in. In his first game back from the Angels, Navarro added two hits with one RBI.
