The Sacramento River Cats (57-34) lost 4-2 to the second-place Las Vegas 51s (50-40) at Raley Field in West Sacramento, Calif. RHP Rich Harden (9-4) took the loss, despite a solid pitching performance. He allowed just 2 R (1 ER) on 7 H in 7.0 IP. RHP Scott Proctor (3-1) picked up the win in relief for Las Vegas. C Mark Johnson led the Cats' offense with 3 H. 1B Graham Koonce recorded 2 H and 1 RBI.
The River Cats remain in first place in the PCL South, six-and-a-half games ahead of Las Vegas. With the loss, Sacramento is now 26-13 in 39 games at Raley Field. They will begin a three-game series against the Tucson Sidewinders tomorrow at Raley Field. RHP Frank Castillo (3-3, 4.20) will pitch for the River Cats. RHP Curt Schilling (0-0, 4.50) is scheduled to make a rehab start for Tucson.
