River Cats Blank Bees
July 1, 2015 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Salt Lake Bees News Release
(SACRAMENTO)- Sacramento pitchers Nik Turley and Cody Hall combined on a five hitter, as the River Cats shut out the Salt Lake Bees 4-0 on Tuesday night. Turley went the first six innings and allowed just three hits and Hall earned a three inning save and gave up just two hits. The closest Salt Lake came to scoring was in the second inning when Grant Green doubled and moved to third with one out on a wild pitch, but was stranded there, Josh Rutledge was called out on strikes and Alex Yarbrough grounded out to the mound.
Sacramento scored two runs in the third inning and one each in the seventh and eighth. Cory Rasmus (0-1), who was making his fifth major league rehab appearance, took the loss, as he went two innings and allowed one run on four hits with one walk and one strikeout. Green's second inning double extended his road on-base streak to 28 games. Alex Yarbrough singled in the seventh to stretch his hitting streak to six games, but Josh Rutledge and Alfredo Marte each had their seven game hitting streaks snapped. The shutout marked a team record fifth time that the Bees were blanked during the month of June.
