Pridie Named to PCL All-Star Team
July 1, 2015 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Nashville Sounds News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Outfielder Jason Pridie has been selected to represent the Nashville Sounds on the Pacific Coast League All-Star team that faces the International League stars during the Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 15 at Werner Park in Papillion, Nebraska.
Pridie was selected as a reserve for the contest by the PCL office.
The 31-year-old claims a .293 (85-for-290) batting average and leads the Sounds with 46 RBIs, eight home runs, 42 runs scored, a .455 slugging percentage and 11 stolen bases in 75 games. He has played all three outfield positions this season, committing just one error and posting a team-high four outfield assists.
Pridie is among Pacific Coast League leaders in games (3rd), hits (T-3rd), totals bases (132, T-9th) and RBIs (T-9th). He put together one of the strongest months of May in the league, hitting .364 (40-for-110) with 14 extra-base hits, 18 RBIs and a season-high 10-game hitting streak (May 15-25).
The Arizona native has recorded 24 multi-hit games and 11 multi-RBI contests, both tops on the team. He is one of two players on the Sounds to hit a home run in back-to-back games this season. In addition, the outfielder collected the first two RBIs by a Sound at First Tennessee Park during a 3-2 win on April 17.
Pridie is in the midst of his 14th professional season and has spent time in seven different organizations. He made his Major League debut with the Minnesota Twins on September 3, 2008.
The mid-season All-Star selection is the third of his career. Pridie was previously recognized as an All-Star by the Southern League in 2007 and the International League in 2013.
The 2015 Triple-A All-Star Game will be broadcast live on television on MLB Network and the Armed Forces Network, as well as on the radio on 102.5 FM "The Game" at 7:00 p.m. CST.
