Sacramento River Cats News Release
The Sacramento River Cats (83-48) beat the Las Vegas 51s (70-59) 6-3 on Tuesday at Raley Field. The Cats broke a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning when RF Mike Lockwood scored on a bases-loaded walk to CF Chris Prieto. LF Mike Edwards followed with a two-run, bases-loaded single that scored SS Jose Flores and 2B Esteban German. LHP Mike Kusiewicz (3-1) earned the win in relief for Sacramento, allowing no runs on 1 H in 2.0 IP. RHP Jeremy Fikac picked up his fourth save in the game.
With the win, the River Cats' magic number to clinch their third PCL South Championship in four seasons in down to two. Sacramento could clinch the division with a win tomorrow.
