Tucson Sidewinders News Release

Noah Lowry earned his first Triple-A win Wednesday night as he threw 7.1 scoreless innings and Fresno shutout Tucson 2-0. The Sidewinders mustered just four singles a night after collecting just three singles in a 5-0 loss. Tucson has advanced only two men to third base in the two games against the worst team in the league.

The loss was Tucson fifth in its last six games, dropping the club back to .500 at 66-66.

Fresno claimed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth when Clay Bellinger doubled and would later score on a sacrifice fly by Francisco Santos.

The Grizzlies increased the lead to 2-0 in the fifth inning scoring a run without a hit. Edgar Gonzalez (7-7) walked Brian Dallimore to start the inning and he eventually scored on a wild pitch.

Gonzalez allowed just five hits and two runs in seven innings of work but took the loss.

Tucson fell to 66-66. The Sidewinders and Grizzlies will meet Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. in the third game of the series. Andrew Good (3-3 4.62) will take the mound for Tucson against Kevin Pickford (9-8 5.02).
